SHIPPING
If you’re interested in any of the puppies featured on our website but live too far to pick them up in person, we can arrange safe and convenient delivery directly to you. Whether it’s same-day or next-day delivery, we’ll ensure your new puppy is shipped to the nearest airport or delivered straight to your home. Delivery fees are based on distance. Typically, your puppy will arrive within 4-8 hours of departure, but please note that occasional delays may occur. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend checking the flight status with the airline before heading to the airport.
Q: how is a puppy shipped?
A: Ship by Airlines
We offer shipping to all regions nationwide, with rates varying based on your location. Shipping charges cover the cost of airfare, the puppy’s shipping crate (pet taxi), a vet-issued health certificate, and a comprehensive puppy care packet. The care packet includes a bag of the food your puppy is used to, along with essential puppy care information.
Our delivery service is typically counter-to-counter, and your puppy will have to travel in a pressurized, temperature-controlled compartment for their comfort and safety (Buyer’s Resposibility). Shipping costs range from $150.00 to $550.00, depending on the destination and airline.
B: Ship by Specialized Ground Service
You also have the option to have your puppy delivered directly to your doorstep via a Pet Transport service, which offers nationwide coverage. The cost of this service varies based on distance and location. Please note, this is the more expensive of the two delivery options available.
General Airline Requirements
To ensure safe travel, the puppy must be at least 8 weeks old and accompanied by a veterinarian-issued Health and Acclimation Certificate. Additionally, some airlines have temperature restrictions and will review the temperature forecasts for both the departure and arrival locations before approving the flight.
Cost of Shipping via Airline
The cost of shipping your puppy includes the following: Veterinarian Health/Acclimation Certificate (approx. cost), Travel Kennel: Prices vary based on size—$25, $50, or $75, Airfare: Determined by the puppy’s weight and the size/weight of the crate. Larger, heavier, and older puppies may incur higher costs. Please note that the final cost will depend on these factors, and we will provide a detailed breakdown of all charges before finalizing the shipping arrangement.
Q: Is shipping really safe for the puppy?
A: Shipping a puppy to a new location may seem daunting at first, but with the right airlines and proper care, it is a safe and comfortable experience for the puppy. With my years of shipping experience, I can confidently assure you that all puppies are well taken care of throughout the journey. Airlines are highly motivated to ensure the safety and well-being of the puppies they transport, as they are committed to customer satisfaction and to avoiding any potential issues.
We take extra care to prepare your puppy for travel. We attach food and feeding instructions to the top of the crate, and include frozen water bottles that will gradually thaw to keep the puppy hydrated throughout the flight. The typical flight lasts 4 to 7 hours, and with proper registration, your puppy will usually arrive within 24 hours. I stay updated on any potential delays or layovers and track the exact times and departure details so I can keep you informed about your puppy’s journey.
To ensure your puppy’s comfort, the crate is lined with a soft, fluffy bed of shredded newspapers for nesting. I also include a pig’s ear chew (which puppies love), as well as a toy or a sock with my scent on it to provide comfort and help the puppy feel secure during the trip. Rest assured, your puppy will arrive safe, happy, and ready to begin its new adventure with you.
Q: Can i travel to pick up my puppy?
A: Yes, you’re always welcome to travel and pick up your puppy in person after purchase. In most cases, flying with your puppy on an airline incurs no additional charge beyond the cost of your own flight. However, some airlines may charge an extra fee for traveling with a pet.
Q: I just picked up my puppy from the Airport. Does he/she needs a Vaccine?
A. Please avoid giving your new puppy any vaccinations within the first 14 days of arrival. Your puppy is up to date on all necessary shots before coming to you and will not need any additional vaccines for at least a few weeks. Many veterinarians may suggest administering a vaccine during the first visit to generate extra income, but it’s important to allow your puppy time to adjust to their new environment. Introducing a vaccine too soon could cause unnecessary stress. Please wait until your puppy has settled in before considering any further vaccinations.
* Nevertheless, when you pick up your puppy, it is necessary to go for a Vet check-in not less than 48 hours after you received your puppy for a general check-up and in case of any health problems, we will be responsible for either giving you a new puppy or refund your payment if no other puppy is available at the moment.
Q: Any recommendations on which VET to use?
A: Usually small-town vets are best. Word gets around small towns very quickly & if a vet has bad practices… small towns will talk Usually (not always) small town vets are more inexpensive as well. Also, try to search for a vet in your area & see reviews of consumers in your area as well. IMPORTANT DO NOT USE BANFIELD HOSPITALS (AS PART OF PETS MART CHAIN STORES) NOR VCA HOSPITALS. Your warranty will be void if you take your new one to Banfield or VCA. We’ve seen too many misdiagnoses, over-medicated, & EXTREMELY HIGH VET BILLS. These two clinics are in it for the money!
